We > Ultrarich is a public-interest project operated on a noncommercial basis by Blonde Rocket Scientist LLC ("we", "us"). It comprises the website (wegtultrarich.org), the REST API (api.wegtultrarich.org), and the MCP server (api.wegtultrarich.org/mcp) — together, the "Services." These Terms Of Use ("Terms") explain the rules that come with using them. There is not much to it: our figures are free to reuse, our API is free to call, and most of what follows is the ordinary legal scaffolding that lets us offer both at no charge.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

How These Terms Fit With Our Other Documents

Three documents cover three different things. LICENSE.md governs reuse of our content, code, name, and wordmark. Our Privacy Policy governs data. These Terms govern access to and use of the Services generally.

Where these Terms and the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0) appear to conflict as to reuse of our content, CC BY 4.0 governs. Nothing in these Terms is intended to withdraw, condition, or narrow any right granted to you under that license.

Using Our Content

Our content — the figures, text, graphics, and dataset on our website as well as the results returned by our API and MCP server — is licensed under CC BY 4.0. You may reuse it anywhere, including in commercial publications and including through automated systems and AI agents, with no permission needed. Give appropriate credit with the line Source: We > Ultrarich (wegtultrarich.org)., link the license where reasonable, and indicate changes when applicable.

Our name and wordmark are a separate matter. CC BY 4.0 does not grant trademark rights, and "We > Ultrarich" and "We Are Greater Than The Ultrarich", along with our wordmark, are reserved — see LICENSE.md. You may of course name us to give the attribution above. You may not use our name or wordmark in a way that states or implies that we endorse, sponsor, or are affiliated with you, your organization, your product, or your campaign. Attribution is not affiliation.

Using The API & MCP Server

The API and MCP server are free, require no authentication, and ask nothing of you in return except that you use them considerately:

Stay within the published rate limits (as of July 2026: 100 requests/minute across all /v1 endpoints, 300 requests/minute for the MCP endpoint, and 500 requests/minute for documentation files, each per IP address) — see our API README for current limits. When you receive a 429, honor the retryAfter field and the Retry-After header.
Don't distribute requests across addresses, clients, or proxies in order to evade those limits.
Don't send personal data. The endpoints are computation-only — they take wealth figures and parameters and return arithmetic — so there is never a reason to.
Cache results where you reasonably can. The calculations are deterministic; identical inputs always produce identical outputs.

We may rate-limit, block, or refuse requests that threaten the stability, security, or availability of the Services for others. Where it is practical and appropriate to do so, we would rather write to you first.

Good-faith security research conducted in accordance with SECURITY.md is welcome and does not violate these Terms. Please follow the disclosure process described there.

Acceptable Use

When using the Services, you will not: (i) introduce any virus or other malicious code, or conduct any denial-of-service attack; (ii) use the Services for any unlawful purpose; (iii) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, or to any systems or networks connected to them, except as expressly permitted under SECURITY.md; (iv) present altered figures or results as unmodified output of the Services, or otherwise misrepresent what our data says; or (v) use the Services or our content in a way that states or implies our endorsement of any product, campaign, candidate, party, or ballot measure.

To be explicit about what is permitted: automated access, retrieval of our published documentation, bulk requests within the rate limits, reuse by AI assistants and agents, and commercial reuse of our content are all expressly allowed. We designed the Services for exactly that.

Availability & Changes To The Services

The Services are provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee that they will be available at any given time, and we are not responsible for your hardware, software, connectivity, or any data charges you incur. We may modify, version, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. Breaking changes to the REST API are reflected in the path prefix (/v1) and recorded in CHANGELOG.md.

Accuracy & No Advice

Our figures are compiled from third-party sources. Each carries a qualifier (exact, at_least, more_than, up_to, estimate, event), a reference period, and a retrieval date, and each will eventually go out of date — wealth estimates for individuals in particular move with market prices, sometimes daily. The constants behind our calculations, including bill and coin thicknesses, item prices, and real-world scale references, are approximate benchmarks. The arithmetic is deterministic, but its accuracy and precision depend entirely on the values supplied and the constants published. Our 200:1 threshold for describing extreme wealth inequality is our own rounded contextual figure, not an official definition.

Nothing on the Services is financial, investment, tax, legal, or other professional advice. Please verify against the original sources we cite before relying on any figure for a consequential purpose.

Where We Stand

We > Ultrarich advocates reducing extreme wealth inequality, but our stance is cause-general: we are not affiliated with, and do not endorse, any specific measure, campaign, candidate, or party. Legislation and ballot measures are described for context only. Specific choices are left to readers and their elected officials.

Embeds & Third-Party Materials

Our embed widget appears on third-party websites. Everything else on those pages is governed by those sites' own terms and privacy practices, not ours. The Services also link to outside resources, including cited data sources and a representative-lookup tool for contacting elected officials. Those resources have their own terms, we do not monitor them for accuracy or completeness, and their inclusion is not an endorsement. Your use of them is at your own risk.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR OTHERWISE, WITH RESPECT TO THE SERVICES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF UPTIME, ACCURACY, QUALITY, NON-INTERRUPTION, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, ERROR-FREE OR VIRUS-FREE OPERATION, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR TO ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY MODIFICATION, SUSPENSION, OR DISCONTINUANCE OF THE SERVICES. THIS SECTION APPLIES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

Limitation Of Liability

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES OR ANY INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THEM. IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR OTHER DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF DATA OR ANY OTHER LOSS ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICES. THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold harmless Blonde Rocket Scientist LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, obligations, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) made by any third party arising out of your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of another.

Changes To These Terms

We may update these Terms. Changes become effective when we post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last Updated" date below. Material changes will be noted on the site. By continuing to use the Services after a change, you accept the revised Terms.

General

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, LICENSE.md, and — as to reuse of our content — the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Services. Where these Terms and CC BY 4.0 conflict as to content reuse, CC BY 4.0 governs, as stated above.

Force Majeure. Any delay in our performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including acts of God, acts of government, natural disasters, civil unrest, war, failures of internet service providers or hosting infrastructure, or denial-of-service attacks — is not a breach of these Terms.

Assignment. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms, in whole or in part, at any time. You may not transfer yours without our prior written consent.

Severability & Non-Waiver. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.

Language. These Terms were written in English. Where a translation conflicts with the English version, the English version governs.

Governing Law. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas for any claim or action arising under these Terms. The foregoing does not prevent us from enforcing these Terms in another jurisdiction if we choose.
